[meme] the love triangle that launched a thousand wanks [day23]

...I hate love triangles.

This is either a bitchy answer or an answer FULL OF WIN, depending on what you ship.

Day 23 - A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out great? [HOW DARE YOU!] )

My coworker and I flipped the shit today when we realized 1990 was twenty years ago.  Apparently we were both calculating years of service for a client on the assumption that the world ended in 2000.

[meme] rhythm emotion is my juuhachiban [day19]

If I had never watched the first episode of this anime, I would not have chosen to take French in middle/high school, nor would I have chosen to take Japanese in college. I wouldn't have chosen to go to a university with (supposedly) the best Asian Studies program on the East Coast, and I certainly wouldn't have viewed Japan as more than a necessary stop-over to the mother country, let alone choose to study abroad there. As an anime it certainly was life-altering for me in terms of story and character development, but the main reason I watched this anime was because I shipped this pairing LIKE BURNING. I might not ship it as rabidly as I did 10 years ago, but if we're talking OTPs of All Time, this one would rank somewhere in the Top 3 or 4.

In short, I blame this pairing for everything.

Day 19 - A pairing you've rooted for since the beginning? [But... but why?] )

[meme] insert witty title here [day14]

Y'know, now that I really think about it.... I'm much more likely to "ship" in animanga fandoms (and to a lesser extent, j-dorama) than I am with Western media (television shows, movies, books). That, and I can't really think of a book that I've read in my adult life where I went "d-d-d-damn I ship these two SO HARD, I MUST participate in fannish activities such as reading fanfiction or squeeing about it with like-minded fans!!!11" Maybe it's because I haven't been reading any books where romance was a central plot point (see: every Palhaniuk book ever, all the Murakami books I could stand to read), or maybe it's because I have the attention span of a fly with ADD and prefer reading short story anthologies when it comes to reading fiction.

Long story short: this was a stretch. Also, I need to read more.

Day 14 - What is your favorite book pairing? [90s throwback part II, electric boogaloo] )

day.09 - The most believable relationship?

I... just got back from a 5-hour drinking session with 3 other twenty-somethings having tipsy lively conversations about expectations in relationships, so I'm not even going to bother answering this one for fear of Freudian slips.

Also WTF, I wrote over 800 words for yesterday's question so I think an amnesty day is perfectly reasonable.

[meme] 30 days of ship squee [day02]

This question was kind of hard - technically, I shipped Disney Princesses with their princes when I watched the movies, and I can't remember if I shipped Sailor Moon/Tuxedo Mask when Sailor Moon first came out in America, but I definitely remember watching the 8:30PM premier of this show (aniki and I fought with my mom to let us stay up late for it LOL) and going "I hope they become boyfriend and girlfriend!"

My age is showing, isn't it.

Day 02 - What was your very first ship? [oh snap '90s throwback!!!1] )
