I told myself I would never do a 30 Days meme because I dislike spamming as much as the next person, buuuuuuuut I am COMPELLED to do this one. Except I might be hetare or just plain forgetful and end up posting 10 in one go or something. I reflect on my mistakes but I regret nothing!!

Also, I'm taking it a step further and doing no repeats for fandoms, which gives me the chance to rant/squee about fandoms that aren't related to countries being gay for each other I don't usually talk about, yeah?

I guess I could be obvious sauce and scream US/UK 4 EVAHHHH for this question, but since I already have them in mind for a different day I'll talk about this pairing that has recently eaten my brain.

I could write lengthy essays on how I can't tell if canon and fandom are being passive-aggressive racist or if they're really just that dumb enough to think the shit they've pulled off is not offensive (to other Japanese people, even!), but this is a ship meme so I digress. To be honest, I don't even know why I find this particular ship, out of all the possible ships in Shinya-tai, so damn appealing. Especially since it makes no fucking sense when you really think about it: he's an American fighter plane and she's a Japanese battleship. They're not even the same type of weaponry! It's like interspecies shipping - HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK I DON'T KNOW. And I'm not even going to touch upon the potential squickiness of a twenty-something guy/school-age girl, or possible dubcon soldier/civilian of opposing sides.  This ship should be hitting my DNW buttons, not my moekyun buttons!!!!

But damn it, Noraneko's reaction to seeing Musashi-chan in summer clothes was fricking cute. And I guess I have a soft spot for star-crossed lovers. Or tall tough-looking-but-actually-hetare guys going deredere-otome over cute tiny ganbare-lolibait, IDK. orz
