jiyuuhonpou: ([inception] hostile takeover)

There's a "we're still on LJ" friending meme that's making the rounds, which is great, I'm really happy for y'all and imma let you finish, but...

Friending memes tend to be hit or miss, at least in my experience. You either hit it off really well with people you meet from them or you end up with a bunch of people on your friends list that rarely, if ever, post in their own journals (or post about things you can't really comment on), and maybe comment on your journal once in a blue moon, if you're lucky. In short - some people you get to know pretty well, and some people you go "who is this person again...?"

So let's have a conversation, f-list. Ask me a question about anything from "what is your favorite color" to "what is your headcanon for Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou". I'll answer and ask you a question in return, too :)

What are you reading/watching these days?

This anime season I'm watching Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, Recorder to Ransel, and Gintama. I tried watching Zenki Sesshou Symphogear but gave up after the first 15 minutes because of *spoiler*; considering watching Inu x Boku when I get the chance. Western TV-wise, I finished watching Sherlock (the BBC drama, obviously). I also watch Community and NCIS.

Sadly, my novel reading has grinded to a halt. I'm in the middle of reading the first novel of the Gundam Wing Frozen Teardrop series but since I'm at the part about that character I don't care about, I've been putting it to a halt. I lost my copy of Ningen Shikkaku last year and haven't gotten around to ordering a new copy ;_; I also have about 12-14 novel doujinshi that I haven't touched yet so I will probably read those before I get to anything else.

Manga-wise, I regularly read One Piece, Gintama, Sket Dance, Bakuman, Skip Beat!, Kimi ni todoke, Detective Conan. Thanks to my mostly Japanese twitter, I read Hetalia as soon as the author posts an update.

How are the new year resolutions coming along for you? ;)

Just started catching up on Gintama now; I consume that series primarily through anime. I'll be following both Danshi Koukousei and Recorder to.

The new Sherlock 3 episode mini series or the old Grenada TV series?

Resolutions: I'm a little behind, but not by too much. You wouldn't happen to know anything about making a good looking webpage/blog?

I'm the opposite - tend to read the manga and only watch anime episodes of the arcs I liked. I have to say that the voice casting for Gintama is dead-on though; putting aside my blatant Sugita favoritism, I can't imagine anyone else voicing Shinpachi other than Daisuke Sakaguchi, and Sarutobi-chan's seiyuu (whose name escapes me at the moment) is AWESOME for her.

New one. I'll probably pick up the Grenada series later this year in an attempt to fill the void left behind by the ending of the new miniseries.

Good luck! I can't help you with the blog question (my LJ layout is a good indicator of my lack of web aesthetics) but may I ask why you need website help? I'm assuming it has less to do with your personal LJ and more to do with your goal of possibly getting original fiction published/turned into an anime...?

Sa-chan's seiyuu is widely admired as one of the best at... um, how to put it, voicing extreme/bonkers/flaming-fujoshi characters. She's the Jim Carrey of female seiyuus. Yuuki Aoi is sometimes considered her "successor."

Yes, the audio is why I prefer the anime version in Gintama's case.

Website/Blog: Yes. The project is moving forward.
